Ingredients for 6 people: 150 g (0.9 cup) semolina, 50 g (1.76 oz) 00 flour type, 180 ml (0.7 cup) whole milk, 120 g (4.2 oz) butter, 300 g (1.3 cup) sugar, 80 g (1 cup) coconut flakes, 50 g (1.7 oz) almond, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon fresh vanilla.
Method: pour in a pan half sugar and 150 ml (½ cup) water with lemon juice. Stir and amalgamate., then boil and simmer for 8 minutes. Let stand for 20 minutes then put in the fridge. That’s the syrup you’ll need to serve.
Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the remaining sugar, flour, semolina, coconut flakes, milk, baking powder and vanilla. Amalgamate all the ingredients and pour in a baking pan greased with butter, if you don’t have a silicon one.
Level off and cook for 35 minutes at 180°C. Take out of the oven the halva and cut it into rhombs, which are the typical halva shape. Sprinkle with the syrup you previously prepared and serve with a couple of almonds on top.
